Creme Brulee

Coincidentally, with all of my talk about cheating yesterday, I actually forgot to mention that I did have a cup of hot chocolate to drink as a snack before dinner last night (or maybe it was the night before). There, now my conscience has been cleared.

Well, I broke my sweet-free streak today (though, I suppose that some people would consider the hot chocolate that I drink occasionally to be breaking it). I had some creme brulee, as you will see below.

Yes, we went to the Chestnut Street Inn this evening. I believe that I mentioned it before. I recommend it to anyone in the relative area (people drive two hours from Chicago to eat there). Monica, the professionally trained chef, is completely familiar with gluten-free cooking (she is actually in the process of writing a gluten-free cookbook, which we will be picking up). It is a little pricey (at least for us), but good for a nice night out every once in a while.

I wasn't sure whether to eat the dessert leading up to the meal, but ended up in favor of it. As long as I don't make a habit of it, I think that I should be okay.

Food:
Breakfast:
Quiche. One of the pieces was from my wife's side, so I had to scrape off some extra cheese from the bottom.

Snack:
Pad Thai leftovers (the little I had left)

Lunch:
Rice and beans, salsa, and sour cream with chips

Snack:
Popcorn

Dinner:
Gluten-free scone with butter
Bacon wrapped scallops (probably my favorite thing of the evening, my wife's too)
Iceberg wedge with green goddess dressing
Prime Rib
Garlic mashed potatoes
Green beans
Creme Brulee

Oddly, my dinner tonight sounds a little fancier than my normal fare.

I didn't overeat at dinner. We brought home several containers of food to last us quite some time. Monica even gave me an entire loaf of the gluten-free scone that she made for me.

Exercise:
None, which is sad, as I have been getting off at noon on Fridays (before you get jealous, I am an accountant and work three months of tax season each year), so I have extra time during the day.

Additionally, we are supposed to be getting a horrible heat wave this weekend which will probably eliminate walking as an option. Perhaps I will have to break out the ole' DDR machine again.
