I have decided that I want to start doing Tai-Chi every day again. I used to do it daily a while back, but I got out of practice. Unfortunately, we just moved a bunch of furniture from the living room in to the dining room because we are having the carpet and couch cleaned. This means that there is no good space to do Tai Chi in our house until at least Wednesday.
I learned the Short Form from Scott Caulpetzer of Great River Tai Chi Chuan, who studied under Grandmaster William C.C. Chen, who in turn learned from the famous Great-Grandmaster Cheng Man-Ching. After learning the short form, I moved on to the next class in body mechanics, and I enjoyed it, but I think that I practiced too much at home and burned out on it. Perhaps if I start doing it daily (in a few days), I will head back to class and learn some more (I am sure that my short form is atrocious by now, with me having had no corrections).
I will be including Tai Chi in the exercise section. I should note that I have done Tai Chi a few times in the past month, but wasn't sure whether I wanted to include it on the blog.
On another note, my wife and I saw that Gran Torino got an A- on Yahoo! Reviews.
"A little low," we thought, "but fair enough."
Then we saw that Madea Goes to Jail ALSO received an A-...
I think that we will not be using Yahoo! Reviews to pick our movies for us any time soon.
Weigh-In:
I weighed in at 291 this morning. That may be a little lower than it should be, since I woke up around 9:30am (staying up until 4am will do that to me). If only I could have worked just a little bit harder (or not eaten all of that creme brulee) then perhaps I would have now lost an entire 'my arms on the towel bar while I weigh-in'.
Food:
Breakfast:
Eggs with crumbled GF scone
Bacon
Snack:
Popcorn
Bacon
Lunch:
Healthy Stew (at least my wife claims that it is healthy) with bacon bits
Dinner:
Sausages with mustard
Exercise:
Tai-Chi short form twice, once in the rain outside. The outside one was fun, but our lawn is too uneven, so I probably didn't accomplish much. It was too hot today to go outside, until it started raining. So, I didn't take a walk. I did lift weights though.
